About Us

Our Mission
SIERA Training exists to deliver structured, standards driven Dynamic Positioning education that enhances offshore safety and operational performance.
We measure success by competence. Every trainee must demonstrate understanding, sound judgment, and practical control of DP systems.
Our Vision
SIERA Training aims to become a trusted regional provider of Dynamic Positioning education through experienced instructors, high fidelity simulation, and continuous professional development.
Why Choose US
Industry Aligned Programs
Our courses align with Nautical Institute guidelines and offshore industry requirements.
Experienced Instructors
They teach practical decision making, redundancy management, and emergency handling based on real operations.
Modern Simulation Technology
Trainees experience drive offs, drift offs, power failures, sensor faults, reference system loss, and weather escalation in realistic conditions.
Focused Class Structure
We maintain controlled class sizes to ensure individual assessment and direct instructor engagement.

Commitment to Safety and Compliance
Risk assessment, bridge resource management, FMEA awareness, and emergency procedures form an integral part of every course at SIERA Training.
Training Location
All Dynamic Positioning training will be delivered at the maritime simulation facilities of AMC Search in Tasmania.
AMC Search operates the commercial training division of the Australian Maritime College. It is one of the most established maritime training and simulation providers in the region.
Why This Location Matters
Advanced Simulation Infrastructure The centre operates full mission bridge simulators with integrated Dynamic Positioning systems. Trainees work in a realistic bridge layout with live radar, ECDIS, conning displays, DP control consoles, and propulsion interfaces.
Realistic Environmental Modelling
The simulator replicates wind, current, swell, shallow water effects, and offshore field layouts. This allows structured DP scenario development under controlled but realistic conditions.
Failure and Emergency Replication
Instructors can introduce blackouts, thruster failures, PRS loss, bus faults, and sensor errors in real time. Trainees respond as they would offshore.
Professional Training Environment
The facility is purpose built for maritime education. It supports structured classroom sessions, debriefing rooms, and high-resolution playback for post exercise analysis.
Integrated Training Approach
Training combines theory sessions with simulator application. Every scenario is followed by structured debriefing. Performance is reviewed against Nautical Institute standards and operational best practice.
By hosting training at AMC Search in Tasmania, we ensure:
Access to world class simulation systems
Compliance with recognized maritime training standards
A controlled, professional learning environment
High credibility within the offshore industry
This partnership strengthens the quality and reputation of our Basic and Advanced DP courses.
